
Baphomet has nothing to do with evil or Satanism.
The best-known modern image of Baphomet was drawn in 1856 by the French occultist Eliphas Levi, in his book Transcendental Magic: Its Doctrine and Ritual. He envisaged a winged hermaphrodite with a torch between his horns and a pentagram on his forehead. Its arms bore the Latin words SOLVE (separate) and COAGULA (join together) - the powers of "binding and loosing" usurped from God.
The goat on the frontispiece carries the sign of the pentagram on the forehead, with one point at the top, a symbol of light, his two hands forming the sign of hermetism, the one pointing up to the white moon of Chesed, the other pointing down to the black one of Geburah. This sign expresses the perfect harmony of mercy with justice. His one arm is female, the other male like the ones of the androgyn of Khunrath, the attributes of which we had to unite with those of our goat because he is one and the same symbol. The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the magic light of the universal balance, the image of the soul elevated above matter, as the flame, whilst being tied to matter, shines above it. The beast's head expresses the horror of the sinner, whose materially acting, solely responsible part has to bear the punishment exclusively; because the soul is insensitive according to its nature and can only suffer when it materializes. The rod standing instead of genitals symbolizes eternal life.
It contains all these binary opposites - above and below, part animal, part human. Male and female.
Polarity
The idea of polarity, such as dividing the world into male and female energies, was a central concept within 19th-century occultism. This influence is obvious in Levi’s Baphomet in several places:
- The gesture of one hand pointing up while the other hand points down. This expresses the Hermetic concept “As above, so below.” It reflects how different levels of existence influence one another, whether those levels be intellectual versus physical, the spiritual world versus the material world, or microcosm versus macrocosm.
- Chesed and Geburah, are two Sephirot on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, which maps out aspects of existence. They are on opposite sides of the tree, which are commonly understood to be male and female, severity and mercy. Chesed represents kindness and love, while Geburah represents power, strength, and judgment.
- The Latin terms solve and coagula written upon Baphomet’s arms. These translate to dissolve and coagulate, which are opposing alchemical processes.
- Multiple physical examples of Baphomet being both male and female (e.g., breasts and phallus; one male arm, one female arm).
- The caduceus-like image replacing the phallus, in which the two snakes frequently represent male and female.
Two-finger salute
Two fingers on the right hand point up and two on the left hand point down, meaning "as above, so below". These words and the accompanying gesture are familiar to occultists. They are drawn from the ancient works of Hermes Trismegistus, whose writings became popular during the Renaissance and Reformation. The phrase is also used in relation to science, the universe and God, but Levi wrote that, by making the gesture, his Baphomet "expresses the perfect harmony of mercy with justice".
Pan and Saturn
The cube of Saturn encodes 777(pathways of creation in the tree of life, 777 is also the CTOL). 777 is the number of God. The numerical symbolism relating to 777(1+2+3+4+5+6=21=777) and other numbers related to the worship of Saturn are amazing in their mysterious logic. The Cube is the Hexagon/Hexagram which is the hexagonal yod(Yod is the letter of Virgo, Saturn also rules the second decan of Virgo, there are 7 cubes in the Cubic matrix(cubistic matrix) there are 7 polygons in a Multidimensional polygon.) which creates all multidimensional polygons and this cube is also known as the Cube of creation, the birthstone of Virgo is the sapphire which originates from the word sephiroth(10 sephiroth of the tree of life) and sephiroth are the yods that make up the tetractys/tetragrammaton/tree of life and the hexagonal yod is the 7 sephiroth of construction, the star tetrahedron(Hexagram) encodes all the Hebrew letters which form the pathways of the tree of life and the Hebrew letters also form the 231 gates(231=21), the CTOL is made out of 91 tree levels(tree of lifes) and 91=13(fruit of life/metatrons cube, Metatron is the angel that holds Metatrons cube and guards the tree of life he is God and is apart of the trinity Godhead) and the CTOL is the Cosmic tetractys(84) which is the 64 tetrahedron grid/metatrons cube which is made out of 8 star tetrahedrons/tree of lifes, the star tetrahedron is the Trinity Godhead which is Vibration, Geometry and Energy, the star tetrahedron is also 666. 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17+18+19+20+21+22+23+24+25+26+27+28+29++30+31+32+33+34+35+36=666, 36 is the value of 2 star tetrahedrons which form the fruit of life.
Cube and Pan:
- Cube in English Reduction = 13 (3+3+2+5)
- Cube in English Ordinal = 31 (3+21+2+5)
- Pan in English Reduction = 13 (7+1+5)
- Pan in English Ordinal = 31 (16+1+14)
Both of these words have the 13/31 reflective numbers in their gematria. 13 is the sixth prime number. Saturn is the sixth planet of the solar system. 31 is the 11th prime number, and in astrology, Saturn rules the 11th sign of Aquarius, the Water Bearer(brings higher dimensional energies down, 888). As strong as these associations are, they don't stop there. In masonic symbolism, the half-goat-half man deity known as Pan is also a veiled reference to the planet Saturn. Pan was a composite creature, the upper part–with the exception of his horns–being human, and the lower part in the form of a goat. The pipes of Pan signify the natural harmony of the spheres, and the god himself is a symbol of Saturn because this planet is enthroned in Capricorn(555), whose emblem is a goat. When you add 7+7+7 the answer is of course, 21. On a die, the numbers in each side go up 1 to 6. When you add those numbers, the result is 21. also 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11=6×11=11+55=66, there are 11 sephiroth in the tree of life.
Saturn in English Reduction = 21(1+1+2+3+9+5), When the sequence begins from 0, 13 and 21 are the 7th and 8th Fibonacci numbers. Adding them together yields the 9th Fibonacci number, 34. As it turns out, 34 reduces to 7, since 3 + 4 = 7. This layer of association brings us right back to 7's role in Saturn's cube. also 1+1+2+3+5+8+13+21+34=88
The hexagram or so-called Star of David is a six-pointed star, which also has gematria that ties in directly to this symbolic structure. Hexagram in English Reduction = 41 (8+5+6+1+7+9+1+4). 41 is the 13th prime number. With 13 as the gematria for cube and 41 as the gematria for hexagram. the associations become even more undeniable. Hexagram in English Ordinal = 77 (8+5+24+1+7+18+1+13). That's another solid lock with gematria, geometry, numerology and mythology all echoed in hexagram's 77 coding.
Saturn God
The Sun God Ra(Enki) created the human race and is associated with the star tetrahedron(666), Helios(Sun God)/Kronos was the name of the planet Saturn, Kronos was the God that birthed the Olimpiums. Kronos is the father of time(spacetime/morphogenetic field this relates to Virgo and the 4th dimension and spacetime can only exist if there is matter which is produced by Virgo). Saturn was always symbolized with a crescent(which relates to the moon which is related to Virgo/isis) and this symbolizes a horned God which relates Saturn to Baal, Baal/Moloch is represented by the owl and horned bull which relates it to the constellation of Taurus(where the anunnaki originated from)
The Caduceus
On the Baphomet's stomach is an old Greek symbol of two serpents entwined around a staff(which sometimes has wings) - the staff which was carried by Hermes and heralds in general. The caduceus symbolizes the Kundalini and chakras which links it to the Sex Goddess Ninhursag who is one of the 12 Gods of creation and is apart of the Trinity that created all of existence, this links sex to cosmic creation, Hermes is the messenger of the Gods and is symbolized by the planet of Mercury which is the planet of Virgo/Ninhursag who is the Goddess of the Kundalini which created all of existence. Hermes is depicted with wings which shows he is an angel and Hermes as we have seen is related to Virgo and he also symbolizes Spica a star in Virgo, also the star spica is symbolized by the crystal emerald and it is also symbolized by the emerald tablets which were written by Thoth/Hermes. Virgo also has wings.
Hermaphrodite
Levi's Baphomet was a hermaphrodite, with breasts.
Through the perfect union of the Universal Mother and Universal Father, as an example of the Gender Principle with Adam and Eve in the waters of sex with chastity, the pillar of the hermai is perfected and made into the image of God through the hierogamic union of the inner Christos-Sophia. This is represented in perfected Alchemy of unified polarities, as the Magnum Opus of cosmic consciousness. In this term hermaphrodite, we see Mercury (Hermes) uniting with the goddess of love. Her name is Venus or Aphrodite. When Hermes and Aphrodite unite they form Hermaphrodite, the perfect balance of unified male and female principle or the Aeonic Pair, Christos-Sophia. The mystical understanding of a hermaphrodite, is the etymology of the word comes from the union between Mercury and Venus (hermes-aphrodite), and is the hierogamic union of a god and goddess, a perfected being, the perfect balance and union between masculine and feminine, united as one.
Angel Hermaphrodite
As shown Baphomet is a hermaphrodite and has angel wings which symbolizes Hermes who is an angel and Hermes is also related to Virgo who is also an angel and the star spica, angels are hermaphrodites, this shows there is a connection between angels and spica. The Xenplexians which is the race of ethereal angel beings that Virgo rules originate from Spica which is shown by this information. The planet the Xenplexians originate from looks like Saturn and as shown Saturn has a connection to hermaphrodite angels and Virgo, the Xenplexians/Hebrews are children of Saturn.
Fertility and Life
The choice of goat-like features for Baphomet comes from several connections between goats and fertility. Levi himself called the figure Baphomet of Mendes, comparing him to a what he believed was a goat-headed Egyptian god honored for fertility purposes. Pan, a Greek god with goat features, was likewise commonly associated with fertility in the 19th-century.
In addition, Baphomet’s phallus has been replaced with a caduceus, which is considered by some to be a symbol of fertility. Certainly, the phallic emphasis can only encourage notions of fertility.
Isis and Sophia
Schonfield showed that by applying the Hebrew Atbash code to the name Baphomet, the name Sophia [Shvpia], female wisdom, is revealed. Sophia is equated with Isis by Plutarch.
The number 58 is less puzzling if one remembers that five (5) is the number of the pentagram and eight (8) is indicative of Isis. We may now complete the simple equation which exposes her secret number: 5×8=40=58-18 ISIS
Isis' magic was allied to the wisdom of the Egyptian god Thoth. His wife or consort, Nehemaut, was known to the Gnostics as Sophia.
Pentagram
The pentagram is on the forehead of the Baphomet and it is related to the number 555 and it forms the pentagon which forms the dodecahedron which forms the E8 lie group/64 tetrahedron grid. The pentagram also symbolizes the 4 elements or 5 since the 5th is soul/energy/light/consciousness.
Elemental Forces
Baphomet also represents the unity of the four Platonic elements: earth, water, air, and fire. Air and water are the easiest to identify through the fish scales (water) and the symbolic semi-circle of the atmosphere (air). Baphomet’s feet are planted on the sphere of the earth, while a fire burns from his crown.
Torch between horns
"The torch of knowledge is the middle horn - it glorifies the pursuit of knowledge. We put a high value on that - it's really central to our beliefs in general," says Greaves. As Levi wrote: "The flame of intelligence shining between his horns is the magic light of the universal balance, the image of the soul elevated above matter, as the flame, whilst being tied to matter, shines above it."
Use of Baphomet
The deep symbolic nature of Baphomet fit well with Crowley’s interpretations of Renaissance and Medieval ritual magick. It also incorporated familiar elements of binary cosmology that supported Crowley’s hermetic ideology. Crowley described Baphomet as a divine androgyne, representative of mystical perfection through a union of opposites. He also equated this union of opposites to that which occurs when a sperm and egg join. This line of thought, triggered by his reflections upon Baphomet, was profoundly influential in Crowley’s theories of sex magick.
